I use a small long brass punch if you have two people it is easer. then you pull the shaft out and drive the bearing off the end. some times they go easy and sometimes they don't. after the shaft comes out then you can inspect the inner bearing.
I would love to do some hunting out there but you are a long way from here. turkey just opened here last weekend but I have been so busy in the shop I haven't gone out. we are getting overrun with turkeys out here too.

Once you drive the inner bearing off the bull pinion, you can install it by heating it to about 300 degrees and then quickly put it in the race and then install the bull pinion. If you can not get it installed that wat you will need to remove the axle housing to gain access.
