Dave, I also have a 340 with a wide front and I think it`s a great tractor. To try and answer a few of your questions and comments, yes those are the factory weights on the front end. The weights on each side fit the 240, 340 or 404 and the slab weight across the front will fit those 3 models plus the 460 and 560. You can add weights across the front by using longer bolts and stacking more slab weights. The tractor you`re looking at looks very well kept up. I think it or at least portions of it were repainted at some time just by looking at the front rims and the headlights.Originally, they never had silver on the front rims and the lights should be red as well. Do you know if the 340 has power steering ? The wide fronts steer somewhat harder than the narrow and then if you hang a loader on ,it`s going to be a handful W/O power steering in my opinion. I suppose it depends how much you`ll be using it, though. One other thing I noticed- does it have any hydraulic remotes? I don`t see any hydraulic levers on the right side of the dash where they`d normally be. Just something for you to be aware of. Good luck, Mark
