Just bought a Super A. I was mowing a friends 4 acres with a new woods belly mower. It was doing a great job. The property was a little neglected, had some ruts in it where someone had been driving a truck through it. After going through the ruts fairly hard, I took a turn and noticed that my front axle was WAY out of control, doing its own thing, turning and pivioting far more than it should. I stopped the tractor, got off, and found the center pivot pin had slipped out, and was about 2 inches forward, not in the rear hole at all. I now know why there is a center U bolt around the axle. This U bolt was tweeked a little as it helped hold the axle in place when I took the ruts. I limped the tractor back on the trailer and took her home. Can you believe I didnt crack or break anything! How lucky was I to catch it when I did. I took the two bolts that hold the pin off the tractor, they were wore right where they catch the pin. I will replace these with grade 8 bolts or stainless steel. If you havent looked at these 2 bolts that hold this pin in, take them out and inspect them. After 60 years of use, they may be wore like mine and that center pin may just start to walk out. The pin has a small (very small) flat spot in it that the bolts slide up against to keep the pin in place. Check this on your tractor.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
