Bud: If I were doing as you are, less than 5 hours per year, I'd drill the pan drain plug and put it a 1/4" water drain. For your use the oil would last a lifetime, if it weren't for condensation. After tractor has been parked for a month, you could drain water off the bottom. It has to be small as you want the flow very slow so it will drain off water without creating disturbance within the oil pan.
We do the very same thing with our sediment bowls, water settles out in bowl and we drain it off. No reason why we can't do the same with oil.
