It's welded. Can be replaced obviously, with all the usual and unique cautions about welding around a gas tank.
I don't have an exact measurement, but the difference in height is a matter of two inches and change.
More importantly, the tanks on the two tractors mount up differently. On the A, there are two ribs that run most of the length of the tank, that bolt up to two brackets, one tall one that rises up from the torque tube just ahead of the post for the steering wheel, and a shorter one that bolts to the rear of the crankcase.
On the SuperC, the brackets are all on the tank. Two long ears at the rear that drop straight down from the tank and bolt to either side of the hydraulic head, and a large flange/panel welded to the front face of the tank that drops down to bolt up to the crankcase.
Entirely different setups. If you're equipped to fabricate, you might get away with it. Though when I look in the book, they list a 10 gal. capacity for the main tank on an A, and 11 gal for the SuperC, so you could wind up with some dimensional problems tryin' to fit the rear of a SuperC hood up to the front of a tank off of an A. Do you have the old tank to compare/measure up?
