It would appear that my tractor has a bit of an identity crisis. I have just acquired what the serial number plate says is an I4 (serial # IBH-20140, which makes it a 1948), however it seems to have some W4 traits. Some time in the past the tractor had been repainted rather crudely with a brush and there are no decals left; the only identification is the International emblem on the radiator. It does have the foot accelerator that the manual says an I4 should have, but it has the drawbar hitch that comes on the W4. Apparently as an I4 it should have a pintle hook hitch. The tire sizes appear to be what a W4 should have, and the front end does not appear to be the heavy duty type. Can anybody help me with what I have here, and what I should be calling it?
