Well after $1000.00 to rebiuld my PTO on a 460 utility. I had to haul it all in to the dealer. When I took just the PTO unit in 1 month ago to get rebuilt I expected it to function when I got it back. After installing it and putting all the fluids back in, I pushed the operating lever down to turn off the PTO but the entire engine would labor. I called the dealer about making proper adjustments but realized there was no changing what was occuring when I tried to disengage the PTO. I also asked if he topped off the oil level and he said, " no I didn't want you to get full of oil until it was installed." A strange answer I thought because If $1000 was spent on a rebuild it shouldn't leak oil. Besides it didn't leak when I took it in! Well I then put 2 qts of oil in per the IT manual and low and behold... the thing leaked. I then called the dealer calmly expressing my dismay and making it known that I am not willing to spend more on this. He told me that apparently something was not done right in the first place and that no further costs would be incurred. They did ask to see the whole tractor this time. COSTS were now incurred!! hauling it in!! just venting! I'll keep you posted on its result.
