How do you tell when plow shins need to be replaced ?
I have a JD No. 44 trip type plow and have been replacing the throw away shares every 2-3 years (it seems) and see that that new shares are quite a bit thicker than the moldboard and shins.
The back moldboard has a crack in the worn spot (center of draft ? ), so I'm guessing that they are shot too. Since the rest of it is obviously worn out, how do I tell if I need new shins ?
