You'll get used to the tall cap. They really are much safer... Stopped for gas on my way to plow a friend's garden with the Super A, which has the old "Buy clean fuel, keep it clean" low cap on it. It was almost empty, but just by removing the cap, I ended up with a bunch of gas on the top of the tank. Never had that with the tall caps.
