Know where you are coming from. I had always had JD, my Dad worked for JD for years. A few years back a guy wanted to get rid of his "Super M", only wanted $100 so figured I couldn't loose. Turned out it was a super MTA. Have gotten a lot of good advice from this board just like on the JD side. Old IH tractors are pretty basic, kinda like a JD with 2 more holes in the block and a foot clutch.
