I had an H with a bad coil that would quit and not start when it got hot. Do the coil check when it's hot - you may want to confirm this because it's been a while. I think you pull the center wire from the distributor cap (the one coming from the coil) and hold it using some thing _really_ insulated (like insulated pliers held with a heavy rubber gloved hand) about 1/8" to 1/4" inch away from a bare spot on the engine (be careful of oil and gas) and turn the engine over just a bit. If the spark you see is whitish-blue, your coil is good. If it's yellowish, the coil is bad.
