I had a similar problem with my H a few years ago. ran ok after I got it started, but had to tow it sometimes a quarter mile (I kid you not!) to get her going. I found the answer to my problem right here in the tip of the day box. I had never adjusted the valve clearances. After setting them fairly close, she would start on the starter for me and after warming it up and rechecking, the old girl fires on the first or second revolution. Just someting you might want to try if the ignition checks out ok.
