Scale and rust might be blocking the removal of the precup I would work it in and out in the effort to free it up. being careful not to get it cocked crooked in the hole. The other question has no answer. Engines of the same displacements and number of cylinders can have HP differences of 10 times the other. A single cylinder stationary hit and miss engine from the early 1900S displacing 50 CI and turning 750RPM with a compression ratio of 4:1, might produce 3 HP, whereas a 50 CI engine with 14:1 compression, 5 valve cylinder head, and turning 10,000 RPM might easily make 30HP. There is no common ground. JimN
