The generator belt was cracked real bad on my C so thought I would replace it before it broke in the field. I had a heck of a time getting the fan belt off of the crank pulley. It was too wide and fat to go easily between the pulley and the cast (web) on the right side or between the pulley and the coolant neck on the left side. When I finally got it past those two obsticles it wouldn't go between the pulley and the cast for the nose of the steering gear. I had to wiggle, push, pull etc very hard to get it off. I bought both new belts at the Case/IH dealer as the supposed correct fan belt was smaller than the one that was on there. Well the new generator belt was perfect but the new fan belt was two thin and too narrow and wouldn't tighten up. Do I have the wrong crank pulley or wrong front bolster? Is their a trick to replacing C fan belts? This is the only C I have. The belts on my BN's are easy to change. Dave.
