Hello, I looked at an IH 444 gas this past weekend as I am thinking of replacing my 350U with it.
Anyway the gentlemen said the clutch needs adjusting. when you depress it the whole way it almost feels like someone is rapping the bottom of your foot with a hammer. not terribly hard or anything but just bouncing it at a regular interval. Can anyone shed some light on if this is just an adjustment issue or if there are parts in the clutch needing repair? he said it has been adjusted 2 times in the last 9 years he has had it for similar issues I guess.
Its a tough choice for me because my 350U is really a great little tractor. HP is about the same in both of these. My 350U has IPTO and a TA which are nice features while baling but the newer 444 has a nicer quick disconnect loader and a standard 3 point instead of a fast hitch. i guess it can go either way. only dislike was the weight of the 444 is a bit less than the 350U and I bale on some slopes and need that extra weight at times... thanks for any input on the clutch.

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
