Rick: After you are sure the radiator cooling fins aren't clogged with debris as others have said, check to see if the overflow tube might have a crack or hole in it inside the upper tank at the bottom where it passes through the tank to the outside. My SA had that problem - the coolant level would leak down to the bottom of the upper tank then fall below that due to coolant expansion after the engine got hot.
