The roll over plow,(i know it as a tumble bug)has a timing mechanisum that must be correct to make it operate. when in the plowing mode with the plows in the ground, the wheel on the unplowed ground will be set sorter than the wheel in the furrow,to keep the plow level.then the trip rope ,when pulled releases the lock on the front of the plow and the fwd.motion against the plow blades causes the front to drop down and hit the ground causing the plow to roll over.at the same time the wheels are reset in the high setting. after turning around to go back the rope is again pulled and the wheels drop. the outside wheel drops all the way down and the furrow wheel drops 1/2 way down to start plowing .this sequence is repeated at each end of the field.
