Are you sure the starter is dead? When the starter locks up agains"t the ring gear it will seem like a dead starter....nothing happens, not even a click. To check, just loosen the 2 bolts holding the starter on...and listen for a "click" as that will be the starter gear releasing as the starter becomes looser. On my H, if I hold the starter button down firmly it works fine, but if I don"t apply enough pressure and the starter momentarily stops and I hit the button harder to make the starter work, the starter locks up right now. This is a well-known problem with H"s and M"s. LA in WI
