I, like my friends, doubt the starter is the cause. If when you try n crank it the lights dont dim at all and the battery voltage isnt dropping down Id suspect in this order:
1) A bad connection such as either battery post,,,,the ground connection,,,,,,the starter or solenoid (if equipped) connection. REMOVE, CLEAN N WIRE BRUSH, N REATTACH EACH N EVERY BATTERY N STARTER N SWITCH N GROUND CONNECTION N TRY IT. NOTE its also possible a cable end may look fine to the eye but is loose/carboned/burned under the crimp i.e. you may have a bad cable????????
2) A bad switch cuz its contacts are burned or pitted or all carboned up TRY A NEW SWITCH OR BY PASS JUMP AROUND IT. This could include those types of starters that have the mechanical saddle switch right on the starter versus the stand alone push starter switches like most old Farmalls
3) A bad battery TRY A CHARGE OR ANOTHER BATTERY
If this dont fix it I volunteer Bob or Jim to come fix it lol
