Yep...I've painted lots of vehicles with the compresses air type. The airless tend to spatter the paint more, and cause orange peel. Of course it's no big deal on the castings, but on the tin it may be a little rough. If this person is using lacquer, he may rub it out afterwards, and give you a nice shiny finish. On a tractor though, I would prefer a non-lacquer finish, with Imron paint being the best (they developed this paint for ship hulls in the navy...it looks a foot deep and shiny, even if your skills ain't that great.) Centauri, and other oil base and acrylic base paints are good too. It takes a very well prepared surface to make them look and stick good. gn
