Mine has a factory wide front which, of course means one kinked tie rod (Why, oh WHY, did they ever put them out front???) and the steering arm has been cobbled back together after bein' busted, perhaps when the tie rod got kinked.
I grew up on narrow fronts, and prefer the looks. On the upside of practical, getting back to the need vs want question, I have to do more backin' and fillin' than I'd like with the wide front. A narrow front would fix that. The flip side is that going to a narrow front would lose some weight on the front end, which is useful when I have the back blade on. I found a couple of saddle weights a few years back to help with that issue, but she can still be a little bouncy in hard stuff.

Just for kicks, the picture here shows the bent tie rod and the saddle weights pretty clearly. The object in the air that has my slack-jawed attention is the soup can (Progresso Chicken and Rice) that I forgot to remove before starting the tractor up to unload it. At the very instant of the photo I was startin' to figure out whether and how I was gonna catch it!
