My buddy has one also, IN10978. Like yours, it has faster gearing and also huge internal expanding band brakes on each wheel in addition to the standard brake. Don't recall about the splined axles. Also has a pintle hitch, no drawbar or PTO.
Original serial tag actually identifies it as a Model 20 Industrial, NOT 10-20 Industrial.
I have a picture of the tractor from about 30 years ago, give or take, at a tractor pull. Front end is up in the air 6 or 8 inches, looks to be around 1000lbs weight on the rears. Funny thing is, the front axle is visibly loose, almost ready to fall off the frame.
My friend remembers seeing the tractor pushing/pulling railroad cars when he was a kid. Used to have wooden bracing built around it somehow to do this.
Right now it's all tore apart to replace the main bearings. One day that'll get finished.
