Works every time for the math formulas, but it (even in all its simplicity)is just math. Each real universe conversion looses energy to the mechanism used to control it. Matter/antimatter reactions might be an exception, but only if they are single atom events, and no one measures any speed or values involved. (tough to run a SUV on theory at the single atom level.
