Joe, The casting # on the starter is HF161, From the end of the nose to the mounting flanges where it sets against the bell housing is 3 1/8". I owned a 1928 chevy 25yrs ago I think the starter off it was the same as a F-20. Also check out the starter for a 70 Hart Parr I have a 1936 it looks like it might work too. You may find one that fits, But will spin the engine over backwards. Watch which side of the flywheel the starter sets on (back side) or (front side) if you remove one off a junk tractor. This makes a differants in the direction it spins the motor. I found that out on an H Farmall you could hand crank it and it would start, But hit the starter and it would not fire a lick. Found out the starter was spinning it backwards. The man had give me two starters for it the first one I tried was the wrong one. Hope this helps!
