Though you can check it, I do not see why if you are just using it. If the tractor goes at the rated speed in gears, Like 16 in fifth at full throttle, it will be fine. The rated speed is just a design idea and equipment spec, not reality. They work in a range from about 600 to 500 RPM all the time. It cannot be higher than that fine range unless the governor has been messed with and it goes faster than 20MPH in High gear. It is not a precision requirement. They did not make 1000RPM shafts in those years, so no risk of that. JimN
