I have an H with 3 point hitch on it. I have a set of forks that I use to move things around. So, I decided to pick up some stumps that I had lying adjacent to the strip of land I had just cleared. I wanted to move them to the other side.
So, the small ones I picked up and moved just great. Then, I snagged on to a larger one and hit the lift. The front end came off the ground. So, I think, put those satchel weights back on there. So I added three more at 25# + each. and then back to the stump. I suck the forks under it and hit the lift. The front end did not come off the ground...but...the square tube that is part of the attachment on the rear axle ripped open--and that was that...No more lifting. I have spent 3 hours getting them off, closing up the tear and welding and reinstalling.
The moral of this story...when the front wheels come off the ground, do not add weights, you are already at or exceeding lifting limits. Stop...do something else!!!!
The principal of the hard knocks school is still laughing at me!
