I added a table spoon of Marvel Mystery Oil to each cylinder on my '49 Cub and hand cranked the engine to distribute it. Fortunately the hand crank for the N series Ford tractors works just fine on the Cub. My Cub is not yet ready to add a battery and try to start it. I am still replacing fluids, then the wiring will all be replaced. That reminds me, there is a starter switch on the dash toward the bottom of it that needs to be pulled out to engage. This is separate from the starter lever on the right side of the engine. Did you make sure the starter switch (ignition switch?) is on?
