Sorry, don't have a 1456 but had a 856 and 1066. Like others below have said, I sure loved running them both, especially the 10. I was at the age (14-16) where I got to run the 10 for everything. My favorite thing was pulling a fully mounted 5 bottom plow on sod cresting a steep hill and adjusting the 3pt so the front end would raise off the ground as I topped the hill! We had a neighbor who had a JD 4640 (if I remember right) anyway, he'd always brag about how great a tractor it was and that all our 10 would do was smoke. He used to get on the CB and joke that there was a fire in our field (the one where our 10 was working). We got the last laugh though, when he bought a new chisel plow and had to borrow our 10 because his JD couldn't pull it! The next spring he bought a bigger tractor. One thing I suggest, to you younger guys especially, wear ear protection. There is no doubt that my hearing has suffered as a direct result of being on those tractors for so long. I loved the sound more than anyone, and it would continue ringing in my ears for hours afterwards. Little did I know then that it might damage my hearing, now 10 years later.

Since this can be extremely difficult, you may want to fabricate the item or purchase a modern replacement temporarily, but eventually, you s
