It sure would be nice to be able to use the implements, but I"m concerned about the strength of the hydraulics, the strength of the fenders, and the fact that the pto is offset when running a mower. Anybody here have any personal experiences? Thanks
If you are somewhat skilled and have the tools, Hugh MacKay has a superior design for a Super A 3-point hitch which you can build from his plans, which he offers for sale.
I already had a "Worksaver" brand 3-point on my SA, and while it is not perfect, I mow all the time with a finish mower mounted to it. I have been using it for years as the family lawn mower, and it is plenty strong to lift my 5-foot finish mower and the offset pto is not a problem at all. Additionally, the fenders have not been a problem either. It can occasionally get a little light on the front end in certain situations, and for that reason I have front wheel weights on my SA. Finally, it is not a big deal to remove the 3-point hitch and quickly re-install my rear cultivators for summer weed control in the garden. When I get too old to own 'em all, the Super A (with 3-point hitch) will be the last one to leave the family.... mike
