Chad: Your quite right, a full set of cultivators will weigh more than 200#. In fact my modified tool bar cultivators are probably closer to 400#. The 1000 loader had it's front support fasten to the cultivator mount. It was supposed to lift 500#, and loader probably excerted another 200# on that attachment.
As I said in my earlier post put the weight just about anywhere that suits, as long as it's bolted to cast and can't bounce in relation to tractor. There has been far more damage done to these little tractors having front end bouncing off the ground, than having a bit of weight up front.
I broke one final drive caused by corked ice chains. I've seen broken spindles, and spindle housings broke from bouncing front end. I've seen front of engine block broken from towing by front axle and letting tow chain come loose, then hitting it with a jerk. Other than that, every casting I've ever seen broken on a tractor was caused by casting being loose where it bolts to rest of tractor. Folks will say torque tubes are weak points. I've seen about a dozen broken torque tubes in my lifetime, various sizes of tractors, and without question everyone of them had been loose.
