Bruce, I think what Old-F20 was getting at is that there is no way for transmission fluid to pass from the transmission to the hydraulic reservoir.
The "belly pump" is an external add-on. It's just hanging on the tractor, not connected to anything.

now the next question. is there anything hooked to the pump, IE cylinders for a bucket or something? if so, it may be a check valve thats letting the sytem bleed down over time.
i have found in the past that when i get tractors with a pump on them they get taken off in very short order. most times anything that they would have run has been taken off, and they all leak on the floor and only make messes. plus they are a pain in the a** if you ever have to do any clutch work since they are smack in the way :roll:
