Hey, if you want to gamble a few bucks for bearings, gasket and oil, give it a shot. Dress up the crank journals real good with very fine emery paper ( comes on a roll, about 1 inch wide, easy to work with )I dont know what caused that thrust surface to wear like that, maybe low on oil, but I would give it a try, you might get lucky and if not you wont be much worse off than you are now.In the old days they did lots of odd repairs, shim stock under bearings etc, sometimes it even worked. good luck Bob S.
