I’m getting hydraulic fluid foaming out of the breather on my 240 Utility. I know it’s not water contamination because I’ve drained the reservoir, and replaced the hydraulic fluid. If I catch the foamed out oil in a bucket, once it settles for 15 minutes it’s cleared up.
I rebuilt the pressure/safety relief valve, and found blockage in the internal screen/orifice, which I cleaned out. But still it foams over when I fill the reservoir. Once a certain amount of oil runs out, the foaming subsides, but then the power steering acts like it’s starved for fluid. I’m filling the reservoir to within a half inch of the fill plug, as the manual says.
I’d appreciate from anyone who has experienced anything like this.
