You say you have a TSC near you? Take your old battery with you and you can get a new 6v for about $37. I have had good luck with the one I got from there. It is a "no-name" brand that I can't even think of at the moment, but that doesn't matter. Remember, if you don't use the tractor at least occasionally, the batteries don't last as long as if they are started a few times a week and let run a couple of minutes. Also......TSC has a lot of "general" parts for old tractors such as sediment bowls, voltage regulators, gaskets etc. If you are going to put a battery in it, now is a good time to replace the cables if it has not been done in the past couple of decades. You can get those at TSC as well, and I bet you can come out of there with a new battery and cables for $50 or less. The new cables will allow your battery to operate more "efficiently" and thus giving it longer life and easier starts. Its amazing how a few bucks can solve major headaches.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
