Moosie-Dog While I can understand your logic, I believe that you are going to spend a lot of time, effort and money to totally dedicate your 240 to a single purpose mower. I have a MF 35 converted into a farm forklift. It has hydraulic power steering, a complete 6" channel frame with counterweight, a canopy, pedals are reversed, shifter levels are reversed, 4000 lb. capacity with sideshift, hydraulic pump drive off the front of the engine, no three point hydraulic system or arms. The unit is an excellant farm tool used only in a forklift capacity. The total cost for this project is nobody's business (ha, ha). In the south and in California, the Farmall M was made into a single row cotton picker. You are correct. The ring gear on some Farmalls can be reversed. Good luck. Ray
