like rusty said, when you put the pump back together with the cast resevoir housing, there is a catch and rod inside that need to be slid together, otherwise the pump wont work. you will need to remove the pump asem from the tractor, remove the pump from the housing, and watch carefully as you slide them back together. before you put the whole works back in the tractor, hook up the outside actuating rod to the side of the pump and operate it . you should feel the valving working.
