Roe: Most 2 point row planters were one of two versions; 251 was a two row corn planter, these were available as 2 point fast hitch, one point fast hitch or 3 point hitch.
There were tool bar planters made up using a 2.5" square tool bar of the desired length for the number of planters to be used. My 1968 buyers guide shows the 185 planting unit. I think there was and earlier unit much the same, possibly a two digit number. Those 185 units would seed a variety of small seeds, smaller than corn.
