Caterpillar Guy: there is a special tool for removing those, it could be on the other wheel. When those tractors were shipped new, the removal tool was clamped to one wheel.
Those wedges are tightened to 600 ft lbs. and if that tight you will beat you heart out with a hammer. A hammer will work if they are only at roughly 200 Ft lbs. 1466 will also break them at 200 ft lbs.
