Been a few years ago, but if I remember correctly, doesn't the head gasket seal over the brass piece??????? The reason I am saying that is that I had to pull the head gasket off another F 20 in order to see if it had the brass piece. Seems like I remember the tube you are talking about, and all I did was make sure it was clear and clean and do not think you have any pieces missing.
