Hello Bill, you really need to make a good bracket to fit a delco under an H hood. I make a copy of the one Lucky Leaman sells on Ebay, I think I should start buying them from him because I don't think I can make them as cheap as he sells them. You can use a one wire or three wire delco I would use the three wire or you will have to speed up the engine to get the one wire to start charging. If you use the three wire alt buy a plug to go with it the red wire goes to the big battery terminal the white to the key switch, I put a diode in line if you are using the orinal IH push/pull switch or the tractor won't shut off. then hook the wire comming from the amp gauge to the big post. also you will need a 1/2 wide pully on the alt to match your belt.
