Your quite right, my generator was sized to give me same output as the power utility. 25,000 watts if I remember correctly. This was 100 cow dairy barn with parlor milking and silo unloaders plus house. With everything working to capacity it would load the 656 diesel. 656 sat just outside milking parlor running generator. If most items were working after dusk, one could hear 656 bark when the 5 hp milk cooler started. Didn't seem to drop the RPMs, I had a cycle meter, and it maintained 60 cycles per min.
I have coupled up 130 when using very little power, it ran this big generator quite well with a few lights and couple small motors. I had a 5 hp on each milker and cooler plus 7.5 hp on each silo unloader. I'll bet the 130 would have died quite quickly if one flipped the switch on couple of those bigger motors.
