There used to be a product line called VHT Paint.
Stands for Very High Temp. Used to use it to paint the barbecue grill outsides. Worked pretty well and lasted a couple of years sitting outside all the time. You might be able to find that at a hotrod shop or truck accessory dealer.
Another possibility, if you don't mind it being black, is stove blacking. Pick that up at a fireplace shop. It's easy to apply and touch up, goes on like shoe polish, with a rag.
