I don't think the book says how much. With the trans drained look one the left side of the trans gear box between the left fender and the gear box. You will see the left wheel brake rod and there should be a plug behind that. Remove that plug and open the fill plug on top of the trans by the shift lever and fill till the oil runs out level hole. You want 80 - 140 or just 80-90 EP gear oil. I use the 80 - 140 in my '53 SA.
