To answer your question about pedal wear I feel that it is an indication of tractor use. The more the tractor clutch is used the more the pedal wears. Most Farmall tractors have grease fitting on pedal but it usually does not get greased to much or often. Another item that makes the pedal wear faster is how stiff of spring is in the clutch pressure plate. I repair a lot of pedals by installing a brass bushing in the pedal after boring out the hole and honeing to fit a new shaft. The pedal from a Farmall SMTA, 450 and 560 are always wore the worst.
