A date code ending in "A" would indicate 1955, which would mean that some or MOST of the tractor is probably a 100.
The serial number 2844 would coincide with a 1955 Farmall 100.
It looks like the engine was cannibalized from a Super A or Super C as Hugh says. The "W" date code on the engine block indicates 1951. I wouldn't worry about it not being "all original" as long as you're happy with what you paid for it, and weren't misled intentionally about its pedigree.
