Hi, I have no experience on a 424 but lots of experience on the BD154 engine in the 424 as same engine was used in B414,434,444,384. Normally there would be a lift/priming pump on the right side of the engine but in the 424 setup the fuel system is completely gravity fed. I suggest to get fuel to come out of the top bleed screw put some air pressure in the fuel tank by placing a clean cloth around a compressed air gun and place it in the fuel filler hole and put a couple shots of compressed air in the tank this will force the fuel through the system and with the bleed screws open, let fuel flow until air bubbles stop, then close bottom bleed screw then top. Loosen a couple of injector lines at the back of the injection pump, throttle about 3/4, glow plugs heated and crank engine, DON'T CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN a minute at a time or the starter will over heat.
