We have a 1946 H that had very sloppy steering. I found that the sector gear and worm gear were badly worn and the splines on the shaft that the gear slides on were badly worn. Check your steering parts, if they are badly worn, replace them. Also make sure thar steering shaft bearings are in good condition.
