Does it improve the way it run if you choke it when that happens or does it make it worse?? If it improves that means it is running way to lean if worse to rich. Either way it sounds like you have a clogged up carb and you may need to rebuild it. If its the type of carb with out an adjustable main jet some times you can remove the cap over the main jet and the drain plug and spray carb cleaner into the main jet and that will fix the problem but only about 50% of the time will that work but its a cheap fix if it does
