I had used one gallon at first and things improved after a few days of baling hay. I later drained the oil to replace the hydraulic pump. The directions say use up to 20% for compensation for wear or for prevenative maintenance on new. So... I refiled the system with 10 gallons or tractor fluid and installed new filters and one gallon of Lucas. All was well but I have a leak at the quadrant levers and figured why not. So... I added one more gallon to top off the oil. My leak has slowed down, but not gone (46 years old). One day I will tear into it and repair.
