I tried blowing air up through the tank. The fix lasted for all of 50 feet. The only thing the worked was to completely clean the tank and seal it--if the problem is rust, that is. What also helps is that the newer fuel bowl assembly protrudes about 5/8" above the bottom of the tank, whereas my original one was flush with the bottom. Helps to keep out trash and rust that didn't belong.
